🔳 Near-term focus (beginning/middle Q4 2023)

Who knows what I'll actually get done this next pass, but working towards:

  • Flesh out district system/keep iterating on LATC
    • Keep iterating on tourist/downtown districts
    • Firm up district lines and get rid of unintentional dead zones
    • More general level design/decorating
  • Game mode improvements
    • Make it easier to switch modes
    • Verify multiplayer is still functioning and potentially add another mode
  • Vehicle + gameplay improvements:
    • Vert ramp physics could use some work
    • Rework steering & general driving feel a bit
    • General code cleanup/commenting to make changes easier
    • Maybe rework combo system somewhat
  • Experiment with AI
    • Try to get a working race AI that can do basic tricks
    • If successful, try adding bots to multiplayer matches

I'm also thinking about going into an "Early Access" period for TCPD on itch (Steam will only get the full release once ready) in the coming months. I'll still have demos/playtests available from time to time, but access will be restricted to paying users (likely $10 or so). All purchases will receive a Steam key when the game is ready. I will have to do a little bit of research to see how to set that up but either way as the game gets more content it feels ideal to reserve access for those interested in testing the early game (and hopefully providing feedback on their purchase)!

Have any suggestions or ideas of what you'd like to see in TCPD? Let me know!

I welcome and encourage all constructive feedback, positive or negative. I need your help to continue making "TCPD" into the best possible game it can be, so please post or message me with any comments or suggestions you may have!
